It has been an incredible year here at The Charter School Bermondsey. Our first full year back since the start of the Covid pandemic didn’t phase our pupils one bit – they rose to the challenge! Read all about our summer term at Compass.
Spring has sprung, the daffodils and tulips are in full bloom, and the seeds of new beginnings were firmly planted in the minds of our pupils this Spring term. Pupils’ performance of Twelfth Night wowed the audience at the Shakespeare Schools’ Festival. The Brilliant Club graduated at UCL Goldsmiths’ College….Click here for the full edition

There was much Christmas cheer as our community came together on the 10th December, to enjoy our Christmas Fair. It’s been a while since we were all together and what better time to celebrate than the festive season? So we dusted our decorations off…

It was a fantastic experience, the one that I did a few weeks ago, as it enriched me greatly; I was so honoured to be chosen by my peers to spend the £250 Jack Petchey Award. I wanted to focus on celebrating the achievements of women as this is something that is necessary; choosing new books for the library that do this, made me fully realise how important is the role of Ms Quigley inside the school. Everyone in school is different; for this reason, choosing the right books that every student will enjoy is a terribly hard task.

Keeping our sense of community alive, even while apart during the summer term, is one of the things that we are most proud of. From competitions to community quizzes, being at home didn’t mean that we were alone. Even so, we were so glad to be back together in person in the autumn term, it really has reminded us all how grateful we are to be part of the The Charter School Bermondsey Community!
