Belong

At Charter Bermondsey, we believe that great behaviour is the foundation of great learning. We have high expectations of every student, not because we are strict for its own sake, but because we know that a calm, respectful and orderly environment gives every pupil the best possible chance to succeed.

Our approach is built on mutual respect, clear expectations and genuine recognition of the effort students put in every day.

Our Expectations

We have high expectations of every student - in lessons, in communal spaces and in the way they treat the people around them. Arriving on time, coming prepared and showing respect for staff and peers are the baseline. Our Parent Handbook sets out everything families need to know.

Rewards

We recognise effort and achievement loudly and often. Students earn recognition for excellent work, positive attitude, strong attendance and contributions to school life.

Achievements are celebrated through Learning Family Time, postcards and calls home, termly rewards events and our student leadership programme.

Attendance

We expect every student to be in school every day, on time and ready to learn. Our target is 96% attendance or above.

We work closely with families where attendance is a concern before taking any formal action.
