The Charter School Bermondsey is part of The Charter Schools Educational Trust (the 'Trust'), a Multi-academy Trust of schools based in Southwark, south east London. Our mission is to work together to ensure that every child in our family of schools has the knowledge, skills and confidence to live lives of opportunity and choice.

Benjamin has worked as an educator and cultural activist for the past 20 years across both the state and independent sectors in London and beyond. As Co‑Artistic Director of two young people’s theatre companies he has provided professional creative experiences, training and career pathways for the next generation of theatre makers and creatives. He currently leads Charter Bermondsey’s Creative Arts Department and the school’s KS3 enrichment programme.

Charlotte has dedicated her career to supporting young people through education. She has worked as a secondary school English teacher, a child policy advisor at the Department for Education and now works as an outreach manager. She manages King’s College London’s widening participation project and supports students and teachers in accessing Russell Group universities. She has a strong interest in raising attainment and creating thriving learning environments.

Craig is an experienced senior school leader with over 25 years’ experience working across both the maintained and independent education sectors. He currently serves as Deputy Head (Community and Co‑Curricular) and brings a strong track record of strategic leadership, curriculum design, quality assurance and whole‑school improvement. His experience spans teaching, middle leadership and senior leadership roles. Craig brings particular expertise in evidence‑based school improvement including the use of data analysis, lesson observation, curriculum evaluation and performance management. He has also led significant change initiatives such as digital strategy development, curriculum review and major building projects. As a governor, Craig offers insight into safeguarding, health and safety, risk management, staff recruitment and policy development and is passionate about inclusive, high‑quality education.

With a background in criminology, psychology and forensic psychology, she currently works with the Parole Board and has previously worked as a prison officer. She is committed to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and positive behaviour and is interested in how schools create safe and inclusive environments where children can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Sally is a child protection lawyer in local government and a South London resident. She has been a governor at Charter Bermondsey since 2017. During this time she has served as the school’s safeguarding link governor and has maintained a strong focus on the use of pupil premium funding. Sally supported the school in its transition to The Charter Trust in 2021. As Chair of Governors, she chairs Local Governing Board meetings, liaises regularly with the Principal and the Trust, and provides strategic oversight of the school’s development plan.
