A school where every student is

known, valued and supported

At The Charter School Bermondsey, we believe every young person reaches their potential when they feel safe, supported and genuinely cared for. Our pastoral offer wraps around every child - from the moment they join us to the day they leave.

Whether it's a trusted tutor relationship, specialist counselling, SEND support or help navigating life's challenges, we make sure no student faces anything alone. This is what it means to Belong here.

"We want every family to feel that their child is genuinely known here — not just as a student, but as a person."

Known

Every pupil belongs to a Learning Family, with a dedicated tutor who sees them each morning and takes a close interest in their wellbeing and progress.

Heads of Year, our House system and a whole-school pastoral team ensure that no child is ever invisible - and that every family has a trusted point of contact.

Valued

We take mental health as seriously as academic progress. Through our partnership with Place2Be, Groundwork coaching and a school culture built on care and respect, every pupil has access to compassionate, confidential support - for the moments when they need more than the classroom can give.

Supported

Our inclusion team provides personalised support for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. Through high-quality classroom teaching, targeted group work and specialist EHCP provision, we ensure every child has what they need to make great progress - whatever their starting point.
