Science creates a collaborative lab environment where students belong by working safely together with kindness and mutual respect. We build the belief that empirical evidence and rational explanation allow us to investigate the universe with integrity. Driven by curiosity about natural phenomena, students adopt a scholarly approach to scientific enquiry, experimentation, and reasoning. By exploring solutions to global challenges with high aspiration, students become analytical scientists empowered as change-makers.
Key Stage 3
Taught through 4.5 x 55-minute periods each week (5 for Year 9)
In KS3, we lay the groundwork for both scientific thinking and core knowledge. Students will explore biology, chemistry, and physics, and learn how to design and conduct scientific experiments to draw meaningful conclusions.
Key Stage 4
Taught through 5 x 55-minute periods each week (6 for Separate Science)
At KS4, students follow the AQA specification for Separate or Combined Science courses. We provide high-quality instruction in all areas of biology, chemistry, and physics, supporting students as they develop a range of competencies, including analytical, evaluative, and practical skills.
